Heartfield Guitars Forum 2.0

I first met her around 1992 in Taipei, Taiwan. She was hanging in the guitar store with another blue Heartfield. I never think about I'll able to own her one day. She hung in the store for a couple of years, and no one buys her. A few years later, my mom bought her as a gift for my brother. When I saw her, I said "Ah Ha! I can recognize this guitar!"

Long story short, we don't really play her. Most of the time, she is just sleeping in the box. Last year, I decided to give myself a chance and pick up the guitar again. My brother no longer (well, never!) play guitar, so she is mine now!

Then I find it's really a good guitar. I feel really bad for not playing it. So I started to learn more about this guitar, and maybe how to take care/restore her.

treat me as a guitar newbie, I am welcome for any story (anything special ? model , etc...) or information about my guitar.

Welcome to the forum, and thanks for sharing your story. Unfortunately I could not see any of the pictures. I just get a circle with a minus in it for each. Or is it just me? Maybe you can try a different method and edit your original message,
Once I see the picures I may also get answers to y questions: what are the specs of your Elan, and what's the serial number?

That works like a charm. Plz keep the pics there as long as you can. Beautiful axe. But,then again, I have yet to see an ugly Elan.

Oh, I forgot to tell you it's an Elan III (not II), actually. You can tell because it does not have a a Fender tremolo (rather a Floyd Rose one), and does not have two humbuckers (rather two humbuckers plus a single coil pickups).
